Dry and Damaged Hair...

Dry Damaged Hair Damaged hair, in most cases, is a direct result of using chemical processes, hot dryers, flat irons and our environment. Let’s review the causes of damaged hair further, so we can better understand how to improve our hair’s health.·

Multiple chemical processes too often. All those color changes can cause big problems. It isn’t the occasional changes every few months that causes the problems, it is the constant total changes of color on the same hair. When you have your roots done, you are only applying color and to the “new growth” which has not been exposed to chemicals before and thus no problem occurs. Try to avoid changing your color too often, and always discuss the changes with your stylist to avoid problems.·

Limit the heat. Too much heat will dry your hair, and if it is too hot it will burn the hair off completely. Change out your styling appliances on the regular basis to avoid a thermostat that is not working properly. Trust your instinct, if you think your appliances are not working like they did in the beginning, then buy new ones before you encounter a problem.·

Weather and pollutants in the environment. Just as your skin is effected by the environment, so is your hair. Treat your hair as you would your skin. Like your skin, the use of a moisturizer can help improve the look of your hair and help protect it from the elements. The number of causes of dry damaged hair are vast, but there are many treatments and products designed to combat these problems. Please talk to your stylist about your concerns. Remember, your stylist is trained on specific products that can help you with your problem. Just as a doctor prescribes medicines for your body’s problems, your stylist prescribes products and treatment solutions for your hair’s problems

Communicate with your Stylist...

Text messaging and emails have greatly inhibited the old school technique of direct communication called talking.

When you are having your hair done it is VERY important that you communicate with your stylist IN DETAIL. Stylists are not mind readers and if you have a specific style you like bring a photo. Our guests are encouraged to bring photos of styles they like, and many magazines and books that show the latest stylists are also available in the salon. Choose about three styles you like because not every style will work for your specific facial features.

Communicate your specific hair needs. If you are having problems maintaining your hair style let your stylist know, they will be happy to share techniques used to overcome your problem. Salon products are designed to help specific problems, your stylist knows these products and will help you.

Bottom line... before you begin make sure you and your stylist are on the same page so your salon experience is both relaxing and beautifying.

Eyelash Extensions-The Hot New Thing for EYES

After searching through several product lines we arrived at Novalash Eyelash Extensions.

Our biggest concern was the safety of the adhesive used in the procedure. It appears that many of the lash extension products contained unacceptable chemicals, and frankly that scared us. After researching the service we found a product line that was developed in the US by chemists with safety around the eye being top priority. We tested the service in the salon on our stylists and found the adhesive not to be irritating to the eyes while holding the lashes very well. Our stylists found the training for certification very complete.

For those interested in Long Beautiful Lashes that look completely natural, find a Novalash salon in your area.
